It`s about our heart

I was talking with some young people the other day that are not Christians and they were talking about how they love Jesus` sayings but that all religions say the same things, basically. One of the young men said, “It`s like they are all giving directions to a path around the same mountain…it`s a different path to the same place.” I stood and listened intently.

I`m learning as a young evangelist that I need to let others speak their mind, say their piece, or give their opinions before I use apologetic techniques to address their claims or questions. After the young men interjected their opinions about Christianity, and other religions, I said, “There is one big difference…all the other religions of the world, or beliefs, are `works’ based—redemption through Jesus is a gift from God.” I`m not a genius, I stole this line from Ravi Zacharias; however, it`s a very powerful truth about the Gospels that no other religion can make.

I then began to talk about how men—Christians—have hurt our faith more than anyone else has. Jesus was focused on one main point in almost everything he shared—the heart.  He made it very clear that we must worship the Father is spirit and in truth. He scolded the Pharisees because of their inner issues of the heart. He told them they were all clean on the outside but full of dead men`s bones and all corruption on the inside.

"Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you are like whitewashed tombs which on the outside appear beautiful, but inside they are full of dead men's bones and all uncleanness” (Mathew 23:27, NASB).

The longer I walk with the Lord, the more I see the beauty of His ways. The more I feel the peace that only He can provide. The more I worry about my own “heart” and if I`m true to Him in my spirit—not just on the street corner. Cash register honesty is not enough!

I recently stepped down from a leadership position in a ministry I`m involved with. Some people were quite surprised at my decision. Others, I believe, were concerned if I was okay. I didn`t step down because I was in trouble or had a duplicitous issue, I stepped down because I have been in leadership positions in the “world” and it has not yet been long enough for me to forget the old “club” life I used to live. I want to be close to Jesus. I want Him to strip me down and make me a true disciple of His. I`m not quite ready to lead—I want to follow for a while. I want to stay mobile, simple, and free to move about and share Jesus. I want to work on my own heart and make sure it is as clean and pure as humanly possible through my Lord and His grace. I want to learn to make nothing in this world as important as Jesus.

I`ve been rich. I`ve been poor. I`ve been powerful. I`ve been weak. I`ve seen death, destruction, evil, and all the things this world has to offer—nothing compares to the love and peace of Jesus. Nothing.

Trust yo Daddy

                           (Dallas Georgia Motorcycle Examiner)
My wife and I went on a Motorcycle run at the beginning of April. We had a horrible time getting home because of torrential rain and my bike broke down. I have a forced air breather on my Heritage and it will not run in the rain. It was sucking water like a thirsty horse. The bolt that holds my floorboard and kickstand fell out and then the main bolt to the crash bar fell out as well. We were soaked and unable to continue. We were forced to get a hotel room. When we stopped, we ran into a couple that are members of our ministry. The Wife, who had ridden a sportster to the event (that had no windshield), had ridden 100 miles in torrential rain as well. All she had was a bandanna on her face. She was close to hypothermic when she stopped. The others in our group had baggers and were able to ride on. My wife and I had very little money for this event, and I had taken a weekend off of work as well; we spent way past our budget, and then some. When I got home, I found out that I had lost two large jobs that I thought were solid—about $1000 worth of income. This set in motion a chain of events that left my wife and I spiraling for weeks. Finally, we realized that we would have to give it to God and stop worrying about our situation. Today, I found out that my main source of income might be in jeopardy. The company that I sell blinds and shutters for may have to shut down. All of this has happened in a few short weeks. I share this because I want those who read this to know that I`m not some rich writer spewing platitudes on the internet—I`m living out my own advice.

Today as I sit on my front porch, the wind is blowing, the sun is shining, and it`s a beautiful 82 degrees outside. The combination of the mild temperature and the wind make it a perfect, sleepy day. I haven`t written here on the blog for quite some time. I`ve been sort of reinventing myself as a writer. I`m finishing my B.A. in English and I had a tough time last semester; however, I`m learning my strengths and weaknesses as a writer. I wanted to write today but I could not muster the energy. Everything I thought about seemed dull. Then a verse from Proverbs popped into my head because it`s the verse I`ve been leaning on lately: “Trust in the lord with all thine heart and lean not to thine own understanding” (Proverbs 3:5).

My wife and I have struggled, as so many others have, in this weird and dismal economy. In spite of this, our Father never lets us go without. If we lean on our understanding—the things we see in the natural—we will have fear, depression, anxiety, and worry; if we lean on Him, on His understanding, He promises to direct our paths. He says His saints will never beg for bread.

I grew up without a father in my life so it`s hard for me to trust in others. I had to learn things on my own, for the most part. May 20th of 2012 I was saved, or rededicated to Christ, in an old chicken house church in Dahlonega, Ga. I have learned since then to trust in my Heavenly Father. I try to see Him as my big Daddy in the Heavens. In spite of the fact that I never had a father, I became a father, and the one thing I know is that I love my children no matter what. I try to use this analogy to understand how God sees me. I`m His Child and He loves me, no matter what; however, because He is Holy, He expects me to live as a follower of His Son Jesus. He knew we weren’t perfect or He would have never sent a Messiah. Nevertheless, this doesn’t mean that we are free to sin, it means we are free from sin.

If you have found yourself surrounded by fear lately—study Proverbs 3:5-6. Use this verse as a meditation, as I have, over a period of days and let it truly sink into your mind. To those who read this—God bless you. I hope this helps. SWB

The short of it: Trust yo Daddy in Heaven.

Watchin` my bike ride away

I remember the day I left the club. I had a whirlwind of problems, emotions, decisions, and other things going on like a cat 5 tornado—it was rough. The one thing that knocked the wind out of me was to watch my bike ride away on a trailer—my bike—the bike I built with my own hands. It broke my heart, however, it was necessary, and it ended up becoming a blessing later on. I owed a member some money, far less than the bike was worth, and they demanded the bike. I fought back at first, but my Pastor and others told me to let them have it. I did. It sucked.

Man it`s so hard to let go of the world some times. It`s so hard to believe that God has things all figured out, and that his way is always sweeter, better, and wiser than our own. On the other hand, some of the great servants of God had to suffer in this life. Some of these men and women lived in physical pain, hunger, and stark poverty—yet they had joy, and I`m certain they were richly blessed in Heaven.

I hear the song in my head as I write this, “Jesus, more of you and less of me, I want more of you and less of me.” I don`t remember the name of the song, or the right words, but I think you get it. The world looks so delicious at times. I see its fruits and I`m so intrigued and distracted. I walk up to the fruit…I pick it…I tell myself that it must be Gods will…I eat it…and invariably it`s rotten and bitter.

I look at Gods fruit and sometimes it looks plain, boring (just being real here), and completely unattractive—and yet when I eat it it`s always delicious, rewarding, and sometimes exciting. When it comes to Gods fruit, no matter what the flavor, the look, the taste—the reward—the one thing that is always a byproduct of eating it, is peace of mind.

As I sit here today, I feel as though I`m finally focused. I think the world and its distractions have finally become somewhat innocuous; I don`t say this with arrogance or naiveté, I say this because I have tried and tried so many times, and the world has always failed me.

I have a vision in my head of Peter standing on the beach at Capernaum as he told his fellow worker goodbye for the final time. I see him standing there looking at his worker pushing away from the shore—a look of uncertainty in the workers eyes, and Peter`s as well, as he pushed out to sea. Peter had finally decided that he would never again fish with his friend—his worker—because he would never leave the side of Jesus, and his life would never be the same. His motorcycle wasn`t taken away—he gave it away.

Today, I sit here, and I know that I have a metaphorical motorcycle I must give away. I must stand on the shore, as Peter did, and push the boat out to sea—I am not my own, and Gods peace will replace the world I walk away from. Like Peter at Capernaum, I must watch the boat head out to sea—or the motorcycle ride away—turn to Jesus, and walk with him wherever that may lead. I hope this helps someone. God bless. WP

I saw a squirrel and I wrecked

I`ve been riding motorcycles for more than two decades. I`ve seen some bad wrecks. I`ve seen death, dismemberment, and men who were left disabled mentally. I have been down a couple of times myself, but by God`s grace I walked away with minor injuries. I hear bikers complain about cars not looking out for motorcycles all the time, however, is that the real issue? Could it be more that we, as riders, are distracted or overly confident that a car will see us? I know since my own accidents, I never trust a cage to see me—I always assume they will pull out or make that left turn in front of me.

If we make a comparison to our walk with Christ, how often are we distracted in our lives in a way that leads to a horrible crash?

I used to joke about a friend of mine that could not follow a complete sentence in a conversation without looking away and suddenly interrupting the person speaking to him. He didn`t really mean to be rude and constantly distracted, but his inability to focus caused a great deal of his problems in life. We used to say, “He saw a squirrel.” He was never able to hear wisdom or truth when it was spoken to him. He was ignorant because he was always distracted. Answers that could have changed his life were right in front of him and he never knew it; not because he was a bad man, or because he was stupid, but because he was always distracted.

Life is full of distractions; shiny things distract us, pretty things distract us, new things, old things—things that we have already visited and should have learned our lesson—and these distractions are the tools of the enemy. Familiar spirits come back to reclaim their domain. Spirits you ask? Well, if you believe there is a Holy Spirit, than certainly you should know that there is also unholy spirits.

We are told in God`s word to let the “Old Man” die and to walk in the newness of life through Christ. In my own life, I have allowed many things to distract me from yielding to the Holy Spirit. My pastor made the comparison that a baptism is like being buried in the very blood of Christ, and as we arise from the waters of the baptismal pool, we are new creatures—the old man is dead—and we are to walk in a newness of life, a newness of mind, and yield ourselves to the whispers of the Holy Spirit.

As for me—I often see a squirrel. Sometimes I will follow that squirrel down the entangled paths I have already traveled in my life. The enemy uses anything he can to distract us from the path our Heavenly Father would have us go down to fulfill his desire for our Earthly lives, and the glory of his Kingdom.
For some of us, the squirrel is sex. For some of us it`s drugs or booze. For some it is ego, money, politics, an old flame, or one of the worst distractions is some evangelistic calling we believe has been placed upon us by God—when in fact—it has not.

The enemy comes to steal, kill, and destroy. If we remain in a close, personal, daily walk with Christ, the Holy Spirit—rather than the futility of our own mind—will lead us. When we run on our own power—an oxymoron—we will always see a squirrel.

My dear brothers and sisters, I don`t write these words as a man who has perfected this in his own life; but rather, as a fellow traveler in Christ seeking to develop the daily habit of yielding myself to the Holy Spirit—and not to a squirrel on the road of life. I hope to always use this blog as a tool of transparency and to relate with you as we journey together to finish the marathon of life. God bless. WP

The Lord restores us from our sin

I want to share with you a personal experience of God`s word and its truth. I will speak from Joel 2:25:
“Then I will make up to you for the yearsThat the swarming locust has eaten,The creeping locust, the stripping locust and the gnawing locust,My great army which I sent among you” (NASB)

I spent many years on the road with my old club. I had a beautiful family and a great wife. I was blessed with a nice home and a large income. I had it all. In spite of this I was a man seeking something that would fill a huge hole in my soul. Now, I didn`t have the wisdom to comprehend this at the time—I am speaking from hindsight.

Because of this wonder lust that moved me, pushed me, and caused me to constantly seek things to fill the hole, I ended up finding a strength that would lead to my greatest downfall—EGO.

I was a natural born leader. I`m a second degree black belt, I was head instructor of a large Karate school, I have owned several successful businesses, and yet I was not happy. I would run home from work, jump on the bike, and head out to the club house or off with the boys. I spent two sometimes three weekends a month for 14 years traveling around the country. I eventually became a regional officer of my club, and was afforded many benefits because of that power. Also, I had girlfriends all over the place. I was living the life of a hellion and I loved it. My ego grew bigger and bigger. I enjoyed the fear that I put into the hearts of other men. I reveled in the circles of power I was a part of within the club, and I loved the acts of violence and intimidation that I was involved in, or ordered to perform. This would all lead to a huge and jaw dropping surprise from God when I finally called on his name.

I won`t go into the details in this post, but let`s just say I lost everything: my home, my wife, my business, my world—and the respect of my children.

In May of 2012—last year almost to the day (the 20th), I found myself at the Alter in a little church…on my knees…sobbing…seeking Jesus for real—for once. I found him. One week later God surgically removed me from my old life in a way I could have never guessed, he actually answered my prayer that I had forgotten I had said that day one week earlier. You see, at the Alter that day, I asked God to remove from my life anything that stood in the way of my usefulness to him…and boy he did.

One year later…almost to the day…I reflect back on those weeks and months after I was saved—and they were hard—but they were BLESSED! God took what I would have perceived, through my worldly eyes, as a great tragedy and made it a tremendous victory in my life. I ride with a Motorcycle Ministry today. My kids love, respect, and trust me, and even my ex-wife and I get along very well. God truly did what he promised in Joel 2:25—he restored what the locusts had eaten, and the lost years. Praise the mighty name of Jesus!!

Bikers and Christ: How do you witness?

I recently read an article about Pastor Tom Hughes. Tom Hughes has been riding for more than 50 years. He rides to many of the larger rallies across the nation witnessing for Christ to other bikers. I saw a story about this during Daytona Bike Week that was written in the local newspaper (forgive me but I forget which one it was). I remember feeling guilty about my total lack of desire to do this type of thing. Many of my brothers in the motorcycle ministry that I now ride with went to Daytona—I did not want to go, the memories are too fresh for me.

I spent over 14 years on the road for my old club. I missed family events, my children growing up, and many other things. Most of this was my personal choice; however, when I became a regional officer in 2008—it became my duty. I have been to many of the big runs. I was clean and sober but I still lived like a 1%`er in many ways. I was not in a 1% club, but believe me, many clubs act as if they wear the 1% Diamond whether they do or not. I respect my 1% brothers. I have many friends who wear the diamond and I respect their lifestyle. They have their way of life, and I have mine. Many of them know if they need a prayer, a flat tire fixed, or a place out of the rain…I would give it in a minute, no matter the colors.

I may never be one to go into the public and witness…I don`t know, but I know the Lord gave me an ability to write and so I write. One year ago, my life made a dramatic change:

I was riding through the streets of my local hometown today thinking about how beautiful the day was as I rode. I thought about how much I love spring –the crisp air, blooming flowers, and general feeling of “life” and renewal.

My mind faded back one year. One year ago, at this time, my life was a wreck. I was in the middle of a horrible political battle in the club I rode with for 14 years. I was a regional officer and had the ear of the highest ranking officer in the club. I was trying to get him to see that a fellow officer was using his political power for personal gain, and that he was attacking my chapter for no good reason. It all seemed so important. It all seemed to be so worthy—none of it was.

I had given a great majority of my time, my money, my family, my self-worth, my loyalty, and at one time or another I almost gave my life for this cause. On May 19th of 2012, a chapter brother of mine suggested we go to church the next morning and pray. For some reason…I agreed. On May 20th of 2012 I was saved and came to the Lord Jesus.

My life went into a spiral of events over the next few months. I was banished from my club the very next weekend after I was saved. Members that I loved and trusted for over a decade became my enemies overnight. I was lost and in pain, I wanted revenge, I wanted justice—I needed Jesus.

Time takes time, and hurt takes time to heal. Jesus can heal us in a moment’s notice…unless we choose to hang on to the past. I held onto those hurts for months. My Pastor and others close to me listened, advised, and prayed. One day, I woke up, and my heart had changed. I no longer cared about the past and I had even began to pray for my old arch enemy in the club.

It`s funny how God works in our lives isn`t it. About this time, I received a call from a chapter brother from the old club. He said that he wanted to speak to me and he wanted peace between the old club and me. I agreed, and the process of amends and forgiveness took place. Some of the members accepted my amends—others scoffed—it made no difference to me because I did what was right, I cleaned my side of the street.

Today, I fly a Christian flag on my back. My top rocker says, “Jesus is Lord.” I realized today as I rode that there is no getting around that one. As I ride today or walk in public with that flag—I represent my Lord and nothing more. It helps keep the “old man” dead. I have never been a good witness for Christ but I`m trying to learn. I know that if nothing else, my actions are a witness. If I show genuine love, respect, and concern for those around me, then I am a disciple of Jesus.

It took me about 8 months to realize that God answered my prayer that day in May at the Alter. I prayed that morning saying, “God, please remove anything from my life that stands between you and I.” He did just that, but in a way of his choosing—not mine. Praise God for his wisdom and mercy.

Christian Biker Dating website

I was doing some surfing and I ran across this site for Christian Bikers. It promotes dating for Christian Bikers. It also has some pretty good links as well. I don`t know much about this website but it seems to be focused in the right direction, as I surfed through it. I have heard about Christian singles sites that don`t exactly measure up to Christian principles—so—this is not a direct endorsement of the site—I simply wanted to share it with my readers. The site is ChristianBikerDating.com for those who would like to check it out.

I`m certainly no match maker, I have been legally married twice and call myself married to my current bride (we wear wedding bands as well). We found that the financial penalties of “legal” marriage would hurt our funding for college (what a shame, huh?) so we plan to officially tie-the-knot in the future.

I remember having a Christian Brother look down his nose at me when I explained this to him. He said, “You should obey God and get married.” I told him that we were every bit married in the eyes of God as anyone—we just don`t have a paper from the state saying so. I figure it like this: I was legally married twice and cheated on both my wives living as a heathen. It`s a bit late to worry about following the laws of Moses (laughing). I know God put this beautiful woman in my life, and I will be with her until the day I die. She knows it, I know it, and God knows it—that`s all that matters. Since I was saved I`m no longer a “whore-dog” so I figure I`m headed in the right direction.

Why am I sharing all this? I know my brothers and sisters in the wind. Many of you are just like me. You used to party, drink, fight, and have sex with whomever whenever. Christ came into your lives and everything was changed. Some of us were already single. Some of us had to divorce our spouses because they would not change. The Church often gives a conflicting message to believers about divorce. Now that I am in Christ, I will not divorce unless there is infidelity, abuse, or abandonment as the bible says. I do believe it is wrong to divorce for convenience even though I did it twice. I think once you are divorced and saved that the Church should not judge that. But once saved—we have to behave different and try to work things out. Like I said—I`m the example of what you don`t do so don`t think I`m an expert (laughing).

In 2 Corinthians 6:14 Paul writes, “Do not be bound together with unbelievers; for what partnership have righteousness and lawlessness, or what fellowship has light with darkness?” I believe that we should find like-minded wives and husbands as we walk our new lives in Christ. Paul also tells us not to burn with lust or passion—it is better to get married (1 Corinthians 7:9).

So, I hope this will help a few of my brothers and sisters in the wind find that special Christian someone that God has awaiting you. God bless. WP

Food for thought and other ramblings from a saved biker

I was thinking about the word “judgment” recently in light of all the political attacks against Christians in the debate on same sex marriage. I`m not sure where to start because so many thoughts run through my head, but let me preface this post with a short story.

I have a dear friend who is a mighty man of God. He is doing great work in the body of Christ and for the coming Kingdom of Heaven. I respect him tremendously, and his love of Jesus is true and very real. I saw his reaction one day to a political discussion. I was not paying any particular attention to this, it`s just that as a biker, and as a man who was trained to watch people to survive, I never miss body language—I always watch things even when I don`t have to—it’s a habit. I couldn`t help but notice his complete rejection of the topic; his total lack of interest and disdain for the subject was easy to see in his body language and facial expressions. Moments later, as the conversation continued, he made the statement that he hated politics, TV, anything to do with this world. He cited a scripture referring to the fact that we are in the world but not of the world (basically, I think he meant Romans 1:2)

Now, the question in my mind is this—is that wrong? Not necessarily; however, I don`t think it`s completely responsible either. I think we have a God that made men to build civilizations and societies filled with people. In that, I also think we are supposed to use the Gospel, and our God given talents, to advance the Kingdom if possible within our society and our government, respectively.

To tie this together: my earthly human/political side tells me that Gays deserve legal protection under the law; on the other hand, my Christian faith is solid about the fact that homosexuality is a sin. On that note, so is adultery, so is theft, so is abuse, so is murder…and on…and on…

Did you ever start a diet and on the second day or so see someone eating a pile of greasy French fries and think, “How can they eat that crap?” Is it not funny how the moment we do something good, or change our behavior to something resembling morality—we begin to judge others? Pride tells us not to look in the mirror, but instead, to look at others.

I must admit, I`m confused a bit on this issue of politics and faith. God is not the author of confusion, so I must be under attack—I don`t know. What I do know is that Jesus died for sinners. I know he told us to make disciples of others. I know that he said we should love the Lord God above all things, and our neighbors as we love ourselves. I know he said I must not judge because God alone holds that authority. But, I also know I must not deny Gods word when asked. If someone asks if something is a sin—I must answer him or her in truth and in the spirit from the word of God. Homosexuality is a sin—period. The question is whether or not it is any different than the long list of sins Paul spoke of in Romans. Is it not a worse thing that they are not believers? What is worse—to be in sexual sin (or sin of any kind), or to not know Christ? How can I preach the Gospel to people that I greet with a curse?

In 1 Corinthians 5, Paul speaks about not judging those who are in the world. He basically says that it is Gods business; however, we can judge those within the body of Christ who are living in some form of sin (1 Corinthians 5:9-12).

Walk in the Spirit not in the flesh

Hello to my brothers in the wind—some who read this may not be Christians, some have just been saved, and some have walked with Christ for decades. Me…I`m a new Christian saved by the Grace of God from a life, and a patch, that I would have died for, and almost did.

To those readers who are not Christians, you`ll find no judgment or condemnation here my brothers, for I found none from God and his Son Jesus—he simply loved me for who I was, and now, I love him for who he is, and what he did for me—Amen.

My dear brother and Pastor spoke today about walking in the Spirit and how he learned to do that as a young Christian. He told stories of how he found scriptures that spoke to him and empowered him and he wrote them down on a note and carried them in his pocket. He also wrote them in the back of his Bible and referred to them throughout the day so that the enemy had no power to steal his new Joy found in Christ.

The reason this man has been such a powerful witness to me in my life, as well as a dear friend, is because I see him live out the things he preaches. I remember when I first met him he would speak scriptures to me all the time. Over time, even though I had not read my Bible much, I found myself repeating those scriptures not only to myself, but also to others.

He would say things like: “You have not because you ask not, and when you ask, you ask amiss” (James 4:3), “My Father owns the cattle on a thousand hills” (Psalm 50:10), “no weapon formed against me shall prosper” (Isaiah 54:17). And these are only a few of the ones that come to mind. Little did I know that he was planting the seeds of God`s word into my mind—praise God for men like him.

The Apostle Paul told us to be transformed by the renewing of our mind (Romans 12:2), and to be sure, my mind needed a good washing. My mind was filled with memories of pornography, drug addiction, alcohol abuse, violence, and ego. Even though I had not drank alcohol or used drugs for many years, I was an egomaniac who held a powerful position in the club I rode with. When God surgically removed me from that lifestyle, I still wanted revenge. I was still angry. I had some payback I needed to hand out to few jerks that I felt had betrayed me in the old world. But somehow, and I`m sure my Pastor made a huge difference in that matter, I began to listen to the Holy Spirit instead of the voices of the enemies familiar spirits that had filled my mind for years. I am a truly new and transformed man by Gods word and the sharing of his word by my new brothers in Christ.

So, today, I learned once again to walk in the Spirit and not in the flesh, I must stay in prayer. I must meditate on scriptures that empower me. I must read Gods word and see it as my instruction manual for life. I know that sounds like a cliché; however, once the scales were removed from my Spiritual eyes, this old and time tested saying became real to me.

The enemy fights us in the flesh. We cannot defeat the enemy in the flesh—we can only defeat Satan in the Spirit. And that power is only available to us through Christ. I tried for a long time to out think Satan, to challenge him with my words and threaten him with my human or fleshly power. He simply laughs in my face when I do that. He knows me, his familiar spirits know me, and he knows just what to do to trigger the sins of the flesh; however, if I fight him standing behind Jesus, if I call on my Heavenly Father, if I quote scripture, or if I lean on the power of the Holy Spirit—Satan will flee! He cannot win. And I cannot fight a battle already won by Christ, but I can stand behind him in that victory. Amen.

Attraction rather than promotion in the 'Great Commission'

I was doing some web surfing today looking for news or commentary about Christian Bikers and I ran across a great link I want to share. I think I will add it to my blog roll as well. It gives a list of great Christian bikers sites, news, MC`s, and ministries all over the globe.

I was recently involved in an interview that was very interesting. The interview was about Christian Bikers. The woman conducting the interview was from New York and although she was quit interested in our lifestyle, she had no knowledge of the biker subculture.

At one point she asked about Christian bikers in particular—compared to “Outlaw” bikers or other clubs in general. One of my brothers answered in an interesting way, with a great perspective. He said, “Bikers make great Christians because we already understand brotherhood.” I thought, “Man, what a great answer,” and it`s very true.

One of the great blessing God has shown me about life is that our greatest tragedies, our greatest mistakes, our greatest sins can all become our greatest asset to reach a lost and dying world. I have always felt the best way to create interest by others in our faith is by attraction rather than promotion. This probably flies in the face of the traditional belief of the great commission by Jesus (Mathew 28:16-20), but I think maybe it doesn`t in reality. See, I believe the tough crowds, the gangsters, the Bikers, the street people, need more than just words—they need to see action to believe. They don`t, by nature, trust other peoples words—but they can see fruit on a tree.

I know I have been approached many times in the last 10 months about the profound change people have seen in my life. They no longer see the old man—they see new fruit on a new tree. Anyway, I just wanted to share some random thoughts today brothers.
